    Due to being overwhelmed/scared/etc, Autistic's display different social communications than neuro-typical individuals, especially when in a fight or flight mode - this can result in loss of ability to make eye-contact (and even the ability to speak), leading to assumptions made like 'that individual is being dishonest, or shifty', and the inference is we do not get treated or believed respectfully.

    And this is not just an issue in the justice system - this is systemic in every part of our society.
